When we discovered cracked sewer pipes in our home we contacted several contractors to get estimates and were shocked at what many would charge. Bill gave us an excellent price and a clear plan of what he would do. They showed up on time to perform the work. Very good and friendly workers.Posted on Google carolyn hibbittJune 30, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I cannot overstate how much I appreciate Bill Bierman and East Falls Plumbing. My stack pipe needed to be replaced two days into owning my first home (in East Falls) and Bill came over that day, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it for a fair price. Months later, I learned that my stormwater drain line (which runs under my kitchen) needed to be replaced as well, and Bill worked with me, gave me options, and ultimately repaired it over the course of two days. Bill is an absolute expert in old Philly homes, and he is the kind of person that you can trust completely to fix your plumbing issues, and to treat you with complete respect and fairness. I cannot recommend Bill and East Falls Plumbing enough to anyone, and while I hope to encounter fewer plumbing failures in the future, I truly feel more confident as a homeowner since I know exactly who to call when and if I do need help.Posted on Google UrbanGirlNavigatesWorldApril 24, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found them using a google search on a Thursday. When I called I gave my name, address and availability. Two plumbers came the next day during the hours I provided. They took a look at my toilet. They fixed my toilet in 10 minutes, this included removing calcium build up to improve flushing and replacing the flapper to stop the running. The price was reasonable. They plumbers were knowledgeable, professional, efficient and nice. I will definitely be using this company again!!Posted on Google Kimberly MeyerFebruary 23, 2026Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bill is the best. He knows what he is doing and gets it done. His crew is nice and respectful of your home. They are knowledgable, reasonable and no nonsense. Replacing all plumbing under the sidewalk is not an exciting prospect for new homeowners. After getting several quotes, East Falls Plumbing offered me the fairest price for a professional job. Bill was easy to communicate with, and his team were quick and efficient. We can rest easy knowing our plumbing is repaired. I know who I will call next time I need a plumbing job!Posted on Google Cris SFebruary 28, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When we moved to East Falls, we paid for new appliances to be installed: washer, dryer, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Unfortunately, we didn’t have the right hookups for these and the installation people wouldn’t take care of it. They told us to call a plumber. We reached out to three different plumbers: the first guy told us we had to rearrange our kitchen and spend upward of $3,500 to do so. We could not get the second guy to provide an actual estimate in writing. Then came Bill at East Falls Plumbing. He was AMAZING. He came when he said he would, he made sure we understood everything he was doing, his pricing was transparent totally on par with his estimate, he took care of the work quickly and efficiently, AND his two guys who came along to do the work were super kind and conscientious. We have cats, and they closed the doors behind them, pet our cats, and even showed a few pics of their own. Oh, and a few days after the guys came back to do the installation of the appliances, Bill even texted me to make sure they completed the work sufficiently. It meant a lot to us. They won us over for good. Any time I have a plumbing issue of any kind, I’m calling Bill at East Falls Plumbing. I rarely write reviews but these guys are that good.Posted on Google Mark TsaiFebruary 7, 2025Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My water heater died on me this week and I was referred to East Falls Plumbing & Heating. Bill was able to fit me in quickly and he and his team came in and did a great job installing my new water heater. If you need any Plumbing or Heating work done, I would highly recommend giving them a call. Thank you Bill and your guys.... Great Job!

Repair vs. Replace: How to Tell If
4 Warning Signs Your Main Water Line
Frequently Asked Questions
Do plumbers in Philadelphia need specialized licenses to operate?
Yes. Any professional working on your home must be registered as a registered master plumber or working directly under one, maintaining active licensing that proves adherence to Pennsylvania’s rigorous compliance standards. Furthermore, all local work must strictly comply with the Philadelphia Plumbing Code outlined in Title 4 of the Philadelphia Code to guarantee the safety, structural integrity, and legality of your property’s infrastructure.
Am I responsible for the water line under the sidewalk or street in Philadelphia?
Yes. The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) dictates that the property owner is entirely responsible for the water service pipe and the sewer lateral extending from the house all the way to the city main in the street. This includes the curb trap, the fresh air inlet (FAI) vent box on your sidewalk, and the ferrule valve connection. If any of these pipes crack or collapse, it is the homeowner’s legal financial responsibility to fix them.
Why Does Having A License Matters?
A licensed plumber in Philadelphia must meet Pennsylvania’s rigorous compliance standards, including the Philadelphia Plumbing Code outlined in Title 4 of the Philadelphia Code. Licensing assures you that the plumber has passed strict testing to safely manage a plumbing rough-in or execute a plumbing camera inspection in Philadelphia on old cast iron lines.
What Can a Plumbing Camera Inspection Reveal?
A plumbing camera inspection involves inserting a waterproof, high-resolution camera into your drain lines to spot blockages, cracks, root intrusions, or structural pipe wear. This non-invasive diagnostic technique is particularly valuable for homes with older clay or cast iron sewer lines frequently found in Fishtown, Germantown, and South Philly, allowing us to pinpoint issues accurately without unnecessary digging.
